How did you decide what program you are doing in university
Heyy people, I am a going-to-gr12 public hs kid wondering what to do in life.

A brief info about myslf:
1. Live in GTA
2. Like interior designs, fascinated by tech, love to eat, outgoing, enjoy flying and driving
3. my favourite YouTube video is "A Day Made of Glass"
4. i studied because of others, not for myself (aka I got good grades but I didnt enjoy them)
5. my ultimate goal is to retire asap (at 45) [I know it may not be feasible, but still...)

Here's my gr11 grades
English 83
Functions 99
Accounting  94
Marketing  96
Chemistry 86
Physics 82
Biology 90
Broadcasting 87

And my only grade 12 grade is physics (completed in summer school) - 94

As above, how did you decide what you are going to do in the future??? Like how do you figure out what you want??
I like interior designs, tech, food, sports, but the thing is - i can't see myself in the future
I dont know what to do? Despite trying to get good grades and apply every single university in ontario....
I really need some advice. Please give me some advice :) :) :)

Thank you very much

Hello everyone as the title stated, I would like to have a new laptop for y post secondary education. I have been browsing different models and puzzled by all the options. Right now, I am using ASUS S56C... and it only lasts for 4 hours (without internal browsing) ....

So here's some specs I would like to have in my future laptop, and hopefully tech gurus can help me  :)

7. At least 8 GB memory

Major usage:
1. Normal tasks (PowerPoint, Word, Publisher, Excel)
2. Video editing (Premiere Pro - it freezes when I use my current laptop)
3. Photoshop
4. Tons of internet browsing at the same time (can up to 100 pages at the same time)

is anybody here, like me, not going anywhere for the summer and interested in starting a little online book or film club? like once or twice a month we all read a novel / watch a movie that we collectively decide upon, i make a thread for it, and we can discuss it together.

anybody cool with that?
Anyone work part time in cineplex?
I would like to work part time there. Can anyone please tell me how you got it in, the interview process, as well as the actual work that you do there?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I've been looking faarrr and wide for an answer, on like android forums & whatnot, but can't seem to find one... so gonna try my luck in a student forum! lol. you guys have technological knowledge, so why not give it a try?

so many humble thanks in advance if you read this and you've got an answer. I'm desperate. and my mom's gonna whoop my ass if I try to get a new one (currently saving all the meager $$ I got for uni tuition, ain't gonna spend it on a phone).

I have a TTC metro pass (it's a card for public transit in Toronto) and like credit cards or library cards or whatever, it has a magnetic strip on the back.

Now i've been keeping it in the back of my phone case for convenience. The magnetic strip side is facing the back of the phone.

I've been keeping it like this for the whole month now, and just recently a strip of surface area on the phone screen doesn't seem to be working. Can't press anything in that expanse of phone screen, particularly the middle.  I downloaded a screen touch test app, and the whole screen is responsive except for that strip down the phone screen.

Initially I chalked it up to the fact that I updated this 2 year old nexus 4 to android 5 (lollipop) some time ago and it was just glitching, but when I took the metro pass out, I realised that the strip of irritatingly unresponsive phone surface was also suspiciously the same area where the magnetic strip on the card is placed.

So naturally, I attempted googling this foolishness up, but to no avail.

could anyone let me know if it's possible for a magnetic strip to affect a phone's touch screen? just so I can explain to my mother as she writes me out of the family will for wasting money? thanks guys, just been tearing my hair out for the past couple of hours.

Wolf of Wall Street vs. Wall Street - Which is better?
I am talking about the original Wall Street not the one with Shia Lebeouf. Personally I enjoyed Wolf of Wall Street more, that being said they are both great movies.

Is Jurassic World/Park possible in real science?
Hey guys I just watched JW. It was great, I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't watched it yet. I remember I used to watch JP literally every day when I came back from school when I was in grade 2~5. I was that much of a fan!! I still am actually lol.

So do you think its actually possible to bring back dinosaurs? Who (what real life company) should do it? And should we? I absolutely love the concept of JP and I'm actually jealous of Michael Crichton who came up with the idea lol.

Help! I need some personal and academic opinions about Queens U vs. York U!

I'm extremely interested in a career in filmmaking - but I am very aware of how difficult a real career in this field is. As a backup plan, I decided I'd like to double major in both Film Studies/Production and Law (Preferably a course that could help me understand Entertainment Law).

I was just accepted to Queens University for the General Arts (Honours) program. On the other hand, York University accepted me too - for the Cinema, Film, and Media Studies program.

I'm aware that York's Osgoode School of Law is supposed to be extremely reputable and well-taught, with high success rates in the students who attend this course (Is this true, or just a rumor?). I'm also aware that York's film programs are supposed to be strong, as well.

However, I'm worried - I'm interested in eventually moving to a school such as U of T for a double major in these programs - or something of this sort. I'm still figuring it out.

I guess my real question is: Will I get a stronger academic takeaway at Queens or York regarding my interest in courses, which school has been found to be more enjoyable, and will attending either school give me an advantage when attempting to get into a more reputable school later down the road? (I know that Queens in generally regarded to be more academically-focused and prestigious than York U - York is generally regarded as "terrible" and "second-rate", but is it actually true?)

I'm stressing out, so any help on this would be extremely appreciated! Thanks :)

Who watches FLASH?
Saw the FInale yesterday and it was awesome. One of the best shows I've seen in recent times. Those of you who don't watch it, start right now!
