Western Engineering 2018-2019
Hey guys so I applied to U of T Eng  (Civil), Western Eng, Guelph Eng (undeclared first year), and Waterloo (civil) on Dec 20 with the following midterm marks:
Eng:90
Accounting: 97
Functions: 87
Chemistry:85

My grade 11 average was 93.5 and now sem 1 has almost ended with my anticipated grade 12 marks (going into the exam) to be:
Eng: 93
Accounting: 96
Functions: 88 or 89
Chemistry: 84 or 85

So do you guys think I'll get into the western eng program? I did the connect profile with decent ECs. Let me know what eng programs you guys have applied, if you got an offer and when and avg u currently have!

What are the chances of 105D getting accepted into an engineering/nursing program
Finished highschool but stuff happened in life and that consequently affected my grades- wasn't able to graduate with good grades(60-70s).
Am now doing ILC to make up for that and am redoing my courses. (Currently getting 90s)
What are the chances of me getting into mac/guelph/ryerson for engineering.
Is there a certain date i have to have everything (transcripts) in by that give me a better chance. I know mac does not like more than 2 reapeated courses (i repeated all of my courses ex. bio/chem/physics) but do I still have a chance? What about guelph and rye? What are some ecperiences of 105D students. Does being a 105D applicant reduce your chances?
Engineering Laptop Suggestions?
I’m thinking of purchasing a Surface Laptop 2 for engineering, hoping that it will last 4-5 years. Is intel core i5, 8 GB ram and 256 SSD sufficient for all the heavy programs I’ll be running like CAD? The uni programs I’m applying to are general engineering for first year (McMaster, Queen's), and I am intending on going into Civil Engineering in 2nd year. I would appreciate laptop suggestions that are around $1200-1600.

What marks are needed to be accepted to UofT Engineering?
I'm going into grade 12 this fall and I want to know what marks I have to achieve to be accepted into UofT Chemical, Mechanical, Computer or Civil Engineering?

Windsor vs Ryerson Civil Engineering
I'm choosing between these two programs. Windsor has a guaranteed coop but Ryerson's coop is less clear. Which program would make me more employable?

Engineering
I just got my card yesterday  my grades are:
Chemistry 11: 88%
Physics 11: 81% (I really had a hard time with this and my teacher as well)
Phys. Geo 11 : 92%
English 11: 86%
Biology 11: 94%
Functions 11: 94%
Environmental Sci: 91%

I really want to take Engineering  in university, and want to get in (maybe) Ryerson, UofT and Waterloo. However, I am scared because my grades and average aren’t that good (I am an ESL student, *been in Canada for less than 2 years* and I’ve been working so much to get high mark as much as I can). Reading through forums, I found out other people get accepted to Waterloo with high AIF. Can anyone explain to me what AIF means and how can I make it stronger? I think explanations with people who have done it is better than just searching on google. Also, if there are other things I can do (tips) to get a better chance being accepted. Thank you in advance, it will really help me to do better next school year!

 Ryerson U
UofT
Queen’s U
 Western U
 Waterloo U

And my back up(if ever) is UoIT
Thank you!

Urgent Conditional Offer Ryerson HELP
Hi,
Im really stressed at this point because my marks have fallen from midterms. I have gotten into Ryerson Mechanical Engineering with an 85-87% average. Right now I believe my average is around 81-82. Ryerson has given me a conditional offer asking to maintain at least 80 in top 6 and 70 in all other courses. I am confident I can keep at least a 70 but Im afraid my total average may fall. Can someone please advice which course I should apply for in summer school, get an extension from Ryerson or do it at all? I have worked hard and do not want to stay another semester at highschool.

My marks atm are:
1) Final English- 86
2) Final Physics-86
3) Advanced Functions-81-84 (depends on exam before exam was 83)
4) Business-96 at midterms but now prob around 85-90 (assuming 85)
5) Comp Sci- 83+
6) Chemistry- (was 80 before summative but I feel I did poorly on the summative dropping to lets say 73-75)
7) Calculus- (was 79 before summative and again did poorly on the summative (stress))

Thanks, please reply asap as to what courses I should plan for summer school or take it at all.

Program Pre-Requisites
Hi there, I am a grade 12 student graduating this year, however, over time my interests transitioned from business to engineering, and I now require 3 Prerequisite courses that I initially did not. In order to apply for engineering programs at Universities, I need to obtain the following courses:

-Physics 12 U
-Chemistry 12 U
-Calculus 12 U

Unfortunately, I did not take any sciences in grade 11 as I was "set" on working in business, however, that ideology has changed and I now face a new obstacle.

I was wondering if there are any college courses/programs that will provide me with equivalent courses to the one's I listed above. If not, I may just have to take the courses online or at a local private school. Please, if anyone has anything to share, good or bad, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you for listening

Engineering Programs
Hi, I am currently in grade 11, and I'm confused on which engineering program I should apply to. The three engineering programs that I find interesting are Chemical, Civil, and Nuclear Engineering, I am still confused because there is a lot of false and misguiding information out there.

My grade 11 average is a flat 90%, and I'm confident in myself that in grade 12 I can get a 92-94% average. The universities that I am interested in are Waterloo, UofT, Western, Queens, McMaster, and UOIT.

Can someone please help me decide which engineering programs I should focus on depending on my interests which are math, chemistry, and physics, and also economic factors such as job outlook.

What are my chances for UofT Track One 2018?
Hey guys, just wondering what my chances are for UofT TrackOne for the year 2018 and what the expected admission average is. Also, how heavily weighted is the personal profile because I did pretty bad on it. If anyone else is applying, what are your averages, ECs, and how well your personal profile went?

Top 6 Marks:
Overall: 94%
MHF4UP - 90
MCV4UP - 95
SPH4UP - 94
ENG4UP - 90 (expected)
SCH4U1 - 95 (expected)
HRE4M1 - 100 (expected)

ECs from past 4 years:
- Leadership: Vice President of STUCO (2018), Minister of Arts and Culture of STUCO (2017), President of Canadian Pavilion for School's Culture Shock, DECA School's Director of Outreach (2018), Link Crew Ambassador
 - Employment: Swim Instructor/Lifeguard for the City, and at a private organization
- Competitions: Competitor at DECA provincials (2017 & 2018), and HOSA Nationals
- Volunteering: Cadets, In-Pool Aquatics Volunteer, Peer Tutor, Event Assistant at MBC
- Miscellaneous: Jazz Band, Badminton Club
- Awards + Academics: 5 Advanced Placement courses, 80th percentile in Avogadro's Exam 2017, Advanced Rudiments (First Class Honours with Distinction), Distinguished Marksman
My Personal Profile: I did really bad. Both oral questions, I've been cut off by the timer without being close to finishing. Other than that, my responses for all three questions were mediocre.

Queen's Engineering 2018 Acceptances
Hello!  I was wondering if any of the high school class of 2018 has heard back from Queen's engineering and if you have, what was your top 5 average?? :)

I was also wondering if I have any chance of being admitted if my marks are....
AP Chemistry: 88% (final)
AP Physics: 92% (in progress)
AP Calculus: 94% (in progress)
English (not AP): 90% (in progress)
AP Statistics (data management): 95% (final)
Average: 91.8%

Edit: turns out I actually have a 92 in physics :))
Also, this doesn't go into the calculation of my average but if it helps I have a final mark of 93% in Advanced Functions

My ECs are decent, and I wrote all my AP's on my PSE so Queen's will know that I took them.  I would say that my PSE is average, maybe slightly above average, although I know that this is very subjective. This was only my first submission average so hopefully I will be able to get it to 92.8% at least by April.  Do you think I could possibly get in?

UPDATE: I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!! (on Feb 28th)

uOttawa 2nd Year Mechanical Engineering- AMA!
Hey everyone! I did one of these last year and it seemed to help a bunch of people so I thought it would be good to do one of these again. I'm currently in 2nd year Mechanical Engineering with co-op at uOttawa! Feel free to ask me anything about residence, campus life, living in Ottawa, academics (even outside of engineering), admission, etc etc! Whatever comes to mind! Some background info:

-I play on the quidditch team (it's a real thing and we're fantastic)
-I was in Civil Engineering first year, then switched into Mechanical this past summer
-I originally applied and got in for Electrical and Civil
-I lived in residence first year (go Stanton!) as I'm from the GTA

Ask away! :)
